Cole’s Victory Lap
Cole’s Victory Lap is a charitable organization who’s main goal is to make the journey of pediatric cancer more bearable for the children, families, and caregivers battling these awful diseases. We provide ‘nacks, drinks, sheets and professional photographs to these families at Prisma in Greenville, South Carolina and MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina.
We believe that the small things really are the big things because we have seen the smiles these efforts have produced. And when you are a parent watching your child fight for their life, being poked and prodded daily by needles and instruments, and generally just feeling “yuck”, you rejoice and praise when you see your child smile.
Cole's parents, Clint and Erin, talk about Cole's journey and how Cole's Victory Lap came to be.
What We Do

Matthew 25:35-36, 40: “For I was hungry and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger and you invited me into your home…I was sick, and you cared for me…’I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!”
Your donation goes to support the missions outlined here.
Thank you for helping to make this journey more “bearable” for the children and families battling.
How Your Donations Make a Difference

Snacks & Drinks
We keep carts of ‘nacks and drinks stocked on the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology floor at Prisma Main Campus and MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital. These carts are available any time a child, caregiver, or team member needs refreshment. This is especially important for patients as chemo destroys the taste buds of these little fighters. Food that tastes good one day may not be appealing the next. So having a variety of sweet, salty and spicy snacks can be just what they need. The ‘nacks are important for parents, too, as they may not want to be away from their little fighter for too long and can easily access a quick snack nearby.

Sheets
We provide new child-friendly and teen-friendly bedsheets while families are inpatient. This brightens up a dull or industrial hospital room and makes the room feel a little less scary and more like home.

Photographs
Some of our greatest treasures from Cole’s treatment are the professional pictures taken by one of our friends. We love to look at these and remember our sweet boy. We pray all our warriors win their fight here, but we know sometimes they win the ultimate victory. Regardless of the outcome, pictures are an incredible gift for a family battling cancer.
Long Term Goal
After our experiences at Levine Children’s Hospital and MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital, our dream is to provide a similar, permanent space, designed specifically for children fighting cancer. Many families spend days or weeks in a room on the same floor. A new unit will provide these vulnerable kids and their entire pediatric oncology staff with a purpose built space, including a playroom and view of the front of campus. The current unit overlooks a back alley and is often relocated to other areas of the hospital every time overflow space is needed. We hope to include an inviting patient room, a playroom for younger kids, and a comforting parent room that will make hospital stays a little more inviting and pleasant.

Why We Need Your Help
On average, there are 50-75 new pediatric cancer diagnoses each year in the Upstate of South Carolina, with 500+ children receiving ongoing treatments and follow-ups at any given time. Your support will bring smiles, comfort, and memories to families fighting right here in our backyard. It will also continue the drive to provide a permanent space that will be a refuge for families fighting these awful diseases.
Would you partner with us to make our mission a reality? We promise to be good stewards of your funds and provide for these families the best we can.
This is why we do what we do. Not only to tell you about the boy that changed our lives forever, but so that his short life had a purpose. And we will do everything in our power for everyone to know exactly who he is.
